STEM x Literacy

At-Home Science & Literacy Activities

Why STEM x Literacy?

untitled-artwork-35_orig.png

During this difficult time and global health crisis, we want to make sure that our children have access to fun and interactive learning tools. Every week, we will be uploading fun science activities that parents can do with their children at home. We also want to encourage our kids to read during this time. At the end of each video, we will feature books that can be found digitally on any eBook platform. Please see the “My First Book Report” worksheet if parents would like to assess their child’s reading comprehension. The "Experiment" worksheet will allow the child to record their observations of their experiment. Please note that our worksheets are not to be reproduced for any purposes. A special thank you to Eboni Sawyer of evolvingstill.com for her contribution of the featured mental health mood tracker worksheet.

We hope that you all are staying safe and healthy during this time. COVID-19 has greatly affected every area of our day-to-day lives. If we can ignite a love for science in our youth during this time, we never know what great future doctors, nurses, engineers, scientists, or innovators will grow up to positively change the world. We hope that these videos can inspire our youth through the power of both science and literacy.
